France

Paris La Défense · Lyon · Aix-Marseille

The Battersea → France moves we run are corporate-finance, tech, and apartment-to-apartment urban. La Défense is the dominant destination — the banking and fund-management role move to one of the towers, with the Battersea Power Station or Nine Elms flat consolidating into a Parisian apartment.

GRANDE ARCHE PARIS · LA DÉFENSE

What this page is not is the Provence pre-children move or the rural Dordogne smallholding. Those are Putney territory or Somerset / Sevenoaks territory. We refer honestly when survey makes the customer profile clearer.

What we cover is the cosmopolitan-corporate France move from an architectural SW London starting point. The 4-tower-cluster destination property at La Défense or Issy-les-Moulineaux. The Lyon Part-Dieu tech corridor apartment. The Aix-en-Provence research-park rental that anchors a hybrid working pattern. Apartment to apartment, contemporary logistics, service-lift coordination at both ends.

The Battersea → France pattern

Three urban-corporate moves we run.

Each pattern is a real shape — survey-tested timing, operationally-tested access at both ends.

01 / 03

Paris La Défense banking and fund-management corporate moves

The La Défense corporate corridor is the most common Battersea → France destination. The corporate side typically handles the destination property and visa; we handle the household. The practical reality is that Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms residences have organised service-bay protocols (timed delivery windows, concierge coordination), and the La Défense destination towers operate the same way. We brief both crews on the dock-and-lift schedule at quote stage.

02 / 03

Lyon tech-corridor and Part-Dieu professional moves

Lyon Part-Dieu has been growing as a French tech corridor for years — financial-services backoffice, EU-research institutions, several listed tech companies have substantial Lyon offices. The Battersea customer profile fits: mid-career professional, apartment-to-apartment move, often partial-consolidation with the SW London flat retained as a London base. Lyon destination property typically requires a service-lift booking at both ends.

03 / 03

Aix-en-Provence research-corridor hybrid moves

The Aix-Marseille research and university corridor is the third pattern — academic and research-institute relocations where the Battersea-based partner keeps a hybrid London commute. Destination property is typically Aix centre-ville apartment or new-development on the Aix-Marseille TGV corridor. Move is often part-furnished (research-corridor relocation packages frequently include destination furnishings), which we plan for at survey.

Housing contexts we work with

Which Battersea housing types move to France.

New-build apartment

Battersea Reach, Nine Elms tower residences, Embassy Gardens, and the newer SW8 / SW11 apartment stock. Organised service-bay, structured lift coordination, contemporary logistics. Operational shape that matches new-build destination addresses (Paris La Défense, Milan Porta Nuova, Lisbon Parque das Nações).

Power Station development

Battersea Power Station residences specifically — Switch House East and West, the Boiler House, the broader Power Station estate. Distinctive operational shape: estate-managed delivery bays, timed lift windows, concierge coordination, security-cleared crew briefing. The signature SW11 move shape.

Period mansion flat

Prince of Wales Drive, Albert Bridge Road, the Embankment-facing Edwardian mansion-flat stock, and the Chelsea-edge Battersea corridor. Third to fifth-floor without lifts, original staircases, period door-frames. Operational shape that pairs with comparable Paris Haussmann, Milan period apartment, and central Madrid period stock.

Customs and paperwork

How the France customs side works.

  • Transfer-of-Residence (ToR) relief: household goods cross duty-free if owned for six months and you are establishing residence at the destination. We file the UK-side ToR1 with HMRC and the French Douanes declaration.
  • Corporate-relocation moves: the visa and residency-evidence side is often coordinated through the destination employer's mobility team; the customs side runs through us regardless.
  • For La Défense corporate destinations the inventory is filed digitally and processed promptly given the high volume of corporate moves on that corridor.
  • Vehicle import: UK-registered cars owned six months or more qualify under ToR. French re-registration is a separate post-move task with the local Préfecture.

France testimonials

From Battersea households who made the move.

A corporate move with corporate timing. Both ends required service-bay coordination and we were not interested in surprises. The Battersea team booked both delivery windows in advance, the load-out happened on the booked slot, the La Défense delivery happened on the booked slot. Apartment to apartment. No improvisation.

Battersea Power Station residences, SW11 → Paris La Défense — Coeur Défense

New-build Nine Elms to a Tour Saint-Gobain La Défense apartment. The corporate side handled the property and the visa; the Battersea team handled the household with the dock-and-lift scheduling at both ends. Apartment to apartment, organised logistics, written quote that held. The exact register we wanted.

Frequent France questions

Things that come up before a France move.

We are moving from a Battersea Power Station residence to La Défense. How does dock coordination work?

Both ends operate timed delivery-bay windows. We coordinate with the Battersea estate management for the move-out slot and with the La Défense building management for the inbound slot. The written quote documents both windows; the load-out and delivery happen against the booked slots, not on-spec. This is the practical reality for Power-Station-to-corporate-tower moves and we have built the operational habit around it.

The corporate side is handling our visa and property. Where does your work sit?

On the household side — survey, inventory, packing, customs filings, transit, and destination delivery. The corporate mobility team handles the visa, the destination property, and often the school-fees side. We coordinate with them as needed; they do not handle the household, we do.

Our Lyon flat is in a new-build with concierge. Anything different?

Same operational shape as the Paris central addresses. The concierge handles delivery access; we book the service-lift slot in advance. The move plan documents the lift window so the destination crew arrives within the booked slot.

We are moving partially — keeping the Battersea flat as a London base. Workable?

Yes, and this is common across the Battersea → corporate-France pattern. The written quote covers the move scope — partial-consolidation rather than full clear-out. The SW London property stays operational; we move the consignment that is going to France.
